PASMAK Medalists during the Skills Competition 2015


MS. Hannah Francesca Michaela M. Adrias of Slims Fashion and Arts School led the Medalists from the PASMAK District when she got the highest score and bested every competitor from the other regions in Fashion Technology and earned her a Gold Medal during the National Skills Competition held sometime in November 2015.

The PASMAK Skills Competition, on the other hand, was held from July 8 to 10, 2015 with 5 institutions who joined and participated in the 3 competition areas - Cooking, Restaurant Services and Fashion Technology. The competition sites were conducted at Ship Hotel Cruise Institute of the Philippines for Cooking and Restaurant Services and SLIM's Fashion and Arts School for the Fashion Technology.

The Participating Institutions were:

  1. St. Therese of the Child Jesus Institute of Arts and Sciences - Cooking and Restaurant Services
  2. SLIM's Fashion and Arts School - Fashion Technology
  3. Ship Hotel Cruise Institute of the Philippines - Cooking
  4. STI Pasay - Cooking
  5. K Line Maritime Academy of the Philippines - Cooking

The Medalists were the following:

  1. Gold
    • Ganny Mark Aypa - St. Therese of the Child Jesus Institute of Arts and Sciences - Restaurant Services
    • Abdul Gaffar A. Dianalan - SLIM's Fashion and Arts School - Fashion technology
    • Kristel Joy M. Visto - St. Therese of the Child Jesus Institute of Arts and Sciences - Cooking (HIGHEST SCORE IN ALL COMPETITION AREAS BASED ON THE INTERNATIONAL CALCULATION SYSTEM)
  2. Silver

    • Emil E. Cruzit - St. Therese of the Child Jesus Institute of Arts and Sciences - Cooking

All Gold and Silver Medalists represented the NCR Regional Skills Competition which was held on August 24 to 28. The Gold Medalists during the NCR Regional Skills Competition represented NCR during the National Skills Competition.

Pasay hosts the NCR STEP Graduation at the Cuneta Astrodome


 

Last June 23, 2015 the City of Pasay hosted the NCR STEP Graduation Ceremonies which was held at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City where a total of 2,022 STEP graduates from the different cities of NCR attended the event.

More than 100 PASMAK STEP graduates from Pasay and Makati also attended the grand graduation ceremony which was graced by no less than the President, His Excellency Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" C. Aquino III. The program also included the messages of TESDA Secretary, Sec. Emmanuel Joel J. Villanueva, Mayor Antonio Calixto and Congresswoman Emi Calixto-Rubiano.

Aside from the 2,022 graduates, a little less than 3,000 STEP trainees and TESDA scholars under the Training for Work Scholarship Program also participated in the event which made the Cuneta Astrodome at the time full house.

During the program, 24 representatives from each STEP training program were presented to the President and were awarded their Training Certificates and Starter Tool Kits. One from Pasay, Mr. Noel Hermosisima, a graduate of Cellphone Repair and two from Makati, Mr. Benjie Anajao who graduated from Install Wiring Devices/Lighting Systems and Mr. John Bryan Amuguan who completed the training on servicing small engine system and components, were part of the lucky 24 representatitves.

Special Training for Employment Program or STEP is a scholarship program of TESDA for 2014 to 2015 which provides special skills training to marginalized TVET clients in the community to help them put up their own service shops at home. The program also includes entrepreneurship training, training allowance and starter tool kits after training.

 

PasMak District Conducts Series of Sectoral TVET Fora for 2015


 

TESDA Pasay-Makati, in its continuous efforts to update its partners in the implementation of programs and services, conducted a three (3) day Sectoral Fora last March 18 - 20, 2015 at the Agoncillo Room, TESDA Women Center.


The Fora aimed to tackle issues from the three (3) key sectors of the TVET supply namely: Service, ICT and Tourism. Attended by about 150 participants coming from both the Assessment Centers and Tech-Voc Institutions, the fora were facilitated by resource persons from the Qualification Standards Office (QSO) and Certification Office (CO) at the Central Office especially to clarify issues which need enlightenment to better understand the Newly Promulgated TRs and its related Implementing Guidelines that were recently issued.



Among the facilitators and presenters were Mr. Edwin G. Maglala, Ms. Isabel G. Gamurot, Ms. Jennifer C. Caspe, Reymundo C. Vergara, Samuel B. Callado Jr.all from the QSO Office and Ms. Nellie A. Llovido with Ms. Janet M. Abasolo of the Certification Office. Several issues were raised and agreements were made in order to address the queries and clarifications of the participants. As the fora wrapped up, it was agreed that TESDA PasMak will hava a team building for both the Assessment Managers and Assessors on April 10 - 11, 2015 to better internalize what has been discussed during the fora.

 

 

Local Chief Executives Lead in the Awarding of the STEP Toolkits



Special Training for Employment Program or STEP is a scholarship program of TESDA for 2014 to 2015 which provides special skills training to marginalized TVET clients in the community to help them put up their own service shops at home. The program also includes entrepreneurship training, training allowance and starter tool kits after training.

As the training programs were conducted within the barangay halls to reach out to the target clients of the program, the mobilization of the trainees/beneficiaries were dependent on the community organizers through the barangays. The Congresspersons assisted by the barangay captains lead in the awarding of starter tool kits to the graduates of the program.

For the district of Pasay, Cong. Emi-Calixto Rubiano awards the Training Certificates and starter tool kits to STEP graduates for solar nightlight and post lamp last Mach 5, 2015 at the ALS Pasay to 25 beneficiaries of 1st district of Makati. The University of Makati through Dean Eliseo Co and Prof. Moner Raguidin initially implemented the STEP program.

 

New PAMATEA Officers take part in the NCR ATSA 2015 General Assembly And Oath Taking Ceremonies in Pasay City


 

The newly elected officers and Board of Directors of the PAMATEA (Pasay-Makati TESD Educators and Assessors Association) took part in the NCR Alliance of TVET Schools Associations (NCR ATSA), led by its re-elected President, Mr. Oscar Ibay of Datamex Institute of Computer Technology, during its General Assembly last April 16, 2015 at the Food Club, Bluebaywalk, Macapagal Ave in Pasay City.

It was highlighted by the simultaneous Oath Taking Ceremonies for the new set of Board of Directors and newly elected officers of the 6 District Associations which was led by the TESDA NCR Regional Director Nenuca Tangonan, and witnessed by the 6 District Directors of TESDA NCR.
