TESDA Pasay-Makati in its effort to continually improve the delivery of services,embarks on a yearly TVET Forum in coordination with PAMATEA. A total of 149 partners from the TVIs and Assessment Centers joined and participated the discussions last March 7, 2014 at the Tandang Sora Hall of the TESDA Women Center.
Honored guests were Congresswoman Imelda "Emi" Calixto-Rubiano of Pasay City, TESDA Deputy Director General for Field Operations Teodoro C. Pascua and TESDA NCR Regional Director Nenuca Tangonan.
The forum presented papers on the ASEAN Economic Integration by Dr. Eduardo Ong, Chairman of PCCI and Chairperson of NCR RTESDC and Developing Technical Skills For Jobs in the ASEAN Market by Dr. Horacio M. Montefrio,President, IETI School System.
Mr. Oscar M. Ibay, the President of the PAMATEA (Pasay-Makati TVET Educators and Assessors Association), President/Owner of Datamex Institute of TESDA DDG Ted Pascua and Cong. Emi Calixto Rubiano gave Inspirational Messages.
TESDA District Director Lenny Carreon, meanwhile, reported the performance of the PASMAK TVET sector (P-E-G-A-C-E Scorecard) for 2013. She also provided them inputs on the TESDA Road Map for 2014 to 2016 and the PASMAK TVET Directions for 2014.
About sixty (60) participants from the PASMAK district participated in the Calibration/Moderation for AC Managers and Assessors last April 7, 2014 held at the TESDA Women Center. It was initiated by the TESDA Pasay-Makati District Office in its continuous efforts to provide quality service for its clients in the Assessment and Certification Program.
Highlights of the session were the review and simulation of the Quality Procedure on the Conduct of Competency Assessment facilitated by Ms. Agda, an accredited assessor and TM trainer, and the renewal of commitments of the accredited assessors by reciting the Assessors' Credo.
Director Lenny Carreon presented the performance of the Assessment and Certification Program in 2013 and tackled some issues and concerns, especially the noted observations during the ISO Audit/Surveillance in March. The AC Managers and Assessors were enlightened and reminded of their roles and functions.
Every year, TESDA Pasay-Makati, embarks on an activity to foster camaraderie among the staff and partners commonly known as Team Building. This is in accordance with the Civil Service as a way of energizing and refreshing staff and leaders.
For this year, the destination was in the Ilocos Province. Important highlights of the itinerary was a benchmarking activity at the TESDA Vigan and TESDA Ilocos Norte. The staff were guided and toured by the TESDA provincial counterparts on Quality systems in order to learn and gain knowledge on how other regions' provincial offices implement QMS and maintain ISO Certification . The activity was both informative, refreshing and enjoyable. Really a breath of fresh air.
